McDonald named to Cypress at Home manager post
Todd McDonald has been appointed as manager of health derives and nosiness development for the Southwest Florida home and community-based care provider, Cypress at Home.
McDonald recently worked for Lee Health as a senior physician relations and network development representative.
His most recent role allowed him to connect, educate and navigate healthcare services for healthcare providers in the Southwest Florida region. While at Lee Health, he was instrumental in business development efforts and growth of Lee Health's outpatient, post-acute, and accountable care networks.
Cypress at Home's current suite of services includes its Aging Life Care Professionals who provide care coordination and advanced dignified care for older adults and its Care Management by Cypress at Home, Home Care by Cypress at Home (comprised of a team of clinical and non-clinical members who provide non--Medicare, private duty support). The organization further features its Medical Care by Cypress at Home with its team of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners led by Dr. Robert Rahmanian. Their service provides in-office, in-home, and virtual-based care.

Lee Health hospitals earn four stars in CMS Quality Star Ratings
High-quality care and patient safety are Lee Health's top priorities, and the health system recently announced its hospitals have been awarded four stars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Cape Coral Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center and Lee Memorial Hospital have all risen from three stars in the 2020 rating period to four stars in this period, and Gulf Coast Medical Center has maintained its four-star status. Children's hospitals are not included in this ranking system.
The four-star ratings reflect the continuous improvements Lee Health takes to provide the highest quality of care to the community it serves.
In the past four years, all Lee Health hospitals have risen from two-stars to four-stars by finding ways to constantly improve patient care.
CMS's overall star rating is based on how well a hospital performs across different areas of quality, such as treating heart attacks and pneumonia, readmission rates and safety of care. The rating shows how individual hospitals perform compared to all hospitals across the country for the 5 groups or categories of quality measures that make up for the overall star rating.
CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare hospitals more easily. The scores are based on previously reported quality and safety data points including: patient satisfaction, value and outcomes, among others.

Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida receives reaccreditation
Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida has earned reaccreditation of its laboratory from COLA, the national healthcare accreditation organization.
Accreditation is awarded only to laboratories that apply highest standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.
COLA is a non-profit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in laboratory medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement, and accreditation.
COLA is approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.
Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida, a physician-owned and operated medical practice, is celebrating its 25th anniversary of caring for Southwest Florida families. Child Care of Southwest Florida hires Yslas as director for P.A. Geraci Child Development Center
Child Care of Southwest Florida has hired experienced child care leader Yolanda Yslas to serve as center director at the P.A. Geraci Child Development Center in Fort Myers.
Yslas has worked in education since 1990, most recently serving as administrative coordinator for Child's Path, where she handled education and immunization records, finances, attendance, medical forms, purchasing orders and other responsibilities. Prior roles include leadership positions at four early learning centers in Southwest Florida in addition to teaching positions with several private providers and the School District of Lee County.
Yslas is completing a degree program at Florida SouthWestern State College, where she is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Located at 3713 Canal St. in Fort Myers, the P.A. Geraci Child Development Center serves children ages 6 weeks old to 8 years old, and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. The center is accredited by the National Accreditation Commission for Early Learning Leaders and is recognized as a five-star provider through the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida and Gold Seal Quality Care Program through the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Face It Botox Bar moves to new office space
Just two years after opening, Face It Botox Bar has moved into their new permanent, larger facility at 12424 Brantley Commons Court in South Fort Myers. Established in the fall of 2018 by Ryann Lavenia, CRNA, APRN, Face It Botox Bar has grown from two to 11 employees and provides personalized aesthetic skin care services and procedures for men and women.
Face It Botox Bar's new space includes 2,500 square feet and 10 rooms to provide aesthetic services including injectable treatments, laser, laser resurfacing (Halo), IV nutrition, hormone replacement therapy, a variety of facial treatments and Qwo, the first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.
Lavenia is a certified registered nurse anesthetist and advanced practice registered nurse with more than 21 years of experience in the medical profession. She is a graduate of the Albany Medical School Nurse Anesthesia Program. In 2005, she moved back to Fort Myers and began her practice as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Lavenia is experienced in a variety of specialties including plastic and cosmetic surgery in Southwest Florida. In 2016, she advanced her expertise and became certified in Botox and dermal fillers.
