graduate in WGU's Virtual Commencement Ceremony
Local Cape Coral-area residents recently earned their degrees from Western Governors University at the university's virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 21. As an accredited online university, WGU offers more than 60 bachelor's and master's degree programs.
The local graduates included:
• Kolby Koehlmoos - B.S. data management/data analytics
• Sabrina Kissen - B.S. business – healthcare management
• Sara Boyce - B.S. health information management
• Ryan Gosselin - M.S. management and leadership and B.S. health information management
In Florida, nearly 7,000 students are enrolled in WGU, which has conferred more than 12,000 degrees in the state.

Cape Technical College Veterinary Assisting Students 'Dog Wash' set
The Veterinary Assisting Students at Cape Coral Technical College are sponsoring a "Dog Wash" to be held Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to
2 p.m.
The cost is $15 for small to medium dogs and $25 for dogs 40 pounds and over. Ear cleaning and toe nail trims are included with the bath.
Cape Coral Technical College is located at 360 Santa Barbara Blvd., N., just north of the Pine Island Road intersection. Follow the signs to the campus.

Holloway makes Summer 2021 Academic Achievement List at GSW
AMERICUS, Ga. — Hannah Holloway, a resident of St. James City, made the Summer 2021 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 437 students recognized for scholastic achievement.
To be eligible for the Academic Achievement List, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.
Georgia Southwestern State University, located in Americus, Ga., is a public, four-year unit of the University System of Georgia with more than 3,000 students. School District earns 2021 Aetna Workplace Well-being Award
The School District of Lee County recently announced it has received an Above and Beyond Silver level Aetna Workplace Well-being Award. The district has a strong commitment to improving employee health and features a comprehensive well-being strategy that employees are passionate about. The award is the culmination of the employees' desire to live healthier, more active lives and make well-being a priority.
"I'm proud to be part of a company that emphasizes well-being," says Bonnie McFarland, Director of Insurance and Benefits. "Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued to support our employees' health. Our well-being program is as much a part of our culture as the service we produce. It's simply part of the way we do business."
The district's workplace well-being program focuses on creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Exercise classes, nutrition classes and mental well-being classes are offered. There is a fitness center, health coaching, virtual wellness resources, onsite health screenings, onsite flu shots, and more available. The District mission states, "we seek to provide a healthy work environment and enhance the quality of life for all District personnel."

Curtis earns degree in biology from Bryant University
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — At Bryant University’s 158th Commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 22, 840 graduates of the Class of 2021 and their families and guests gathered on campus to celebrate earning a Bryant degree. Kory Curtis of Cape Coral graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology: cellular and molecular track.
