A dozen teachers at Caloosa Elementary School received $10,119.13 for school teacher projects after receiving the most votes from fans across the country for the annual Limeades for Learning Fall Voting Campaign, SONIC Drive-In.
"Through their Fall Voting Campaign, SONIC Drive-In has provided essential supplies that will help hundreds of students flourish and empower their teachers during this unpredictable school year," Charles Best, CEO and founder of DonorsChoose, said in a prepared statement. "We're celebrating SONIC's milestone of donating $20 million over the past 13 years through DonorsChoose. Because of their ongoing partnership, classroom visions have come true for teachers in every state in our nation."
Brand Solutions Account Executive Vernie Covarrubias said the Limeades for Learning annual Fall Voting campaign allows individuals to make a difference for public school teachers by voting for teachers' requests for supplies and resources.
"For the 2021 Fall Voting campaign, which took place Sept. 27 through Oct. 24, SONIC committed $1 million to funding public school teacher projects across the country, and guests could determine which projects receive a portion of the brand's weekly funding for learning materials. Teachers submitted a classroom project on LimeadesForLearning.com and SONIC fans voted for their favorite requests on a daily basis. The teachers whose projects received the most votes at the end of each week during the four-week voting period received funding for much-needed learning supplies," Covarrubias said.
