Collaboratory scholarship applications now available
Collaboratory's scholarship application process for the 2022-2023 school year is now open.
All scholarships require the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form available at www.fafsa.gov.
More than $1 million in scholarship money is available through more than 100 scholarships for local high-school students, adult learners, undergraduate and graduate students from Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties. Last year, one in four students who applied received a scholarship from the Foundation.
Students can now apply for scholarships through the Collaboratory's online portal at https://collaboratory.org. The scholarship application process will close Jan. 12, at 5 p.m. Students may review the scholarships available online as well as a tutorial about how to create and submit the online application. Students may apply for multiple scholarships and have the ability to upload transcripts, a letter of recommendation and the FAFSA Student Aid Report.
Educators, mentors, parents and students can find resources to complete the FAFSA through the local FAFSA first website recently launched by the FutureMakers Coalition at http://fafsafirst.org/. The goal of the FutureMakers Coalition is to transform the workforce by increasing the number of Southwest Florida residents with degrees, certificates and other high-quality credentials by the year 2025.

Seaton joins Hodges University's board of trustees
Hodges University has announced that Tamika Seaton has joined the university's Board of Trustees.
She is the founder and president of "Grow Your Non-Profit," a firm specializing in growing startup, small and stagnant non-profits by providing consultative services for fundraising, strategic planning, executive and board development, and live and virtual event planning. Her firm strongly believes in big picture thinking and running a nonprofit like a business.
Seaton has a combination of 16 years of experience in government, and the nonprofit and for profit sectors. She has hosted delegations from China, Russia and Saudi Arabia while working as public information officer with the city of Naples in the mayor's office.
Seaton graduated cum laude from Hodges University, earning a bachelor's and a master's degree in management, and received a fundraising certificate from the University of Indiana Lilly School of Philanthropy.

Moorings Park Foundation presents $25,000 grant to Hodges University
Hodges University accepted a $25,000 grant from Moorings Park Foundation. The grant will benefit Hodges University's health science programs, which include nursing, physical therapy, EMS, and dental.
The Moorings Park Foundation, through the generosity of individuals, supports its mission through philanthropy and charitable giving. The foundation also works with and supports outside organizations in ways that benefit both Moorings Park and the participating organization.
