Lavoie makes Fall 2021 Dean’s List at Adelphi University in New York
GARDEN CITY, N.Y.– Leah Lavoie of Cape Coral has been named to Adelphi University’s Fall 2021 Semester Dean’s List.
Lavoie was among a select group of outstanding students recognized by Adelphi’s deans of Arts and Sciences, Education and Health Science, Business, Nursing and Public Health, Social Work and Psychology for superior academic performance.
The list comprises full-time students –registered for 12 or more credits — who have completed at least nine graded credits who achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above for the semester.

Two students win national awards for June 2021 Cambridge Assessment Tests
The School District of Lee County this week announced that two students have won national awards for their performance on the June 2021 Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education Assessments.
Estero High School student Hayden Germanis earned a "Top in Country" award for Digital Media and Design. "Top in Country" awards are presented to students who earn the highest standard mark in the nation in an individual subject.
Mathew Powell from Lehigh Senior High School is a "Best Across Four" award winner for attaining the highest cumulative total standard marks in the country in four AS level assessments.
In additional to the two national awards, 229 students received Cambridge Awards for their exceptional performance on the June 2021 exam series:
• Estero High School - 96 students
• North Fort Myers High School - 78 students
• Lehigh Senior High School - 53 students
• East Lee County High School - 2 students
Students in the Cambridge program take AICE classes to prepare for the exams to earn college credit and a potential Cambridge diploma.
The Cambridge AICE diploma is awarded to students who have passed seven Cambridge exams in three different subject groups as well as a Global Perspectives and Research exam. The exams are rigorous college-level tests taken twice a year by 175,000 students worldwide.
