Congressman Donalds announces the 2022 Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Byron Donalds, who was nominated as Speaker of the House Wednesday as an alternative to Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, has congratulated the congressman from California who finally was named speaker after a contentious 15 rounds of balloting.

The office of Congressman Byron Donalds, R-FL, is accepting entries for the annual Congressional Art Competition.

All current high school students are eligible to participate in the competition and submit artwork to one of Byron’s congressional offices, in either Collier County or Lee County, no later than noon on May 4.

The theme of this year's competition is "American Beauty."

The Congressional Art Competition judging ceremony will be held on May 5, at 5 p.m. at the Estero Recreation Center in Estero.

"The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for students to showcase their hard work, talent, and artistic capabilities," Donalds said in a prepared statement. "It's an honor to host this annual competition and I'm looking forward to seeing the great work of Southwest Florida's emerging artists."
