The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife will be holding its final meeting of the season Tuesday, May 9, with a full agenda of discussion items and board member elections.
First, Ecology Club students from Oasis Elementary School will speak on their Butterfly Garden project. Club advisor Janet Altini guided the children as they restored the garden destroyed by Hurricane Ian. She involved the majority of the student body and the community, receiving support from the Charter School Foundation, PTO and Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife.
Next, Cheryl Anderson will talk about the Annual Burrowing Owl Census to be held Saturday, June 3. Hundreds of residents have expressed concern over the fate of our city’s official bird after Hurricane Ian filled their burrows with water. The data will reveal the details.
Finally, CCFW will hold its board member elections. If you are a member, it is vital that you attend to make your voice heard.
The meeting will begin with a meet and greet at 6:30 p.m., followed by the programs at 7 p.m. The membership meeting and elections will begin at 7:50 p.m.
The meeting will be held at the Rotary Park Environmental Center, 5505 Rose Garden Road, Cape Coral.
