The School District of Lee County is excited to once again present the largest public display of student artwork in the state of Florida. The 2024 Designs and Dreams of Young Artists show will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, and showcase more than 600 pieces of art from students in elementary, middle and high school.
"Designs and Dreams is an outstanding display of the Lee County student arts and art educators," says Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator Dr. Jason Thomashefsky. "Arts education is the key to helping students find their own inner source of creativity, mindfulness, and happiness.
The exhibit is an open house for students, parents, employees, families and the public to enjoy artwork created by students. The hallways of the Lee County Public Education Center at 2855 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers will be open from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 17.
The Designs and Dreams of Young Artists was created by former Superintendent Dr. James A. Adams in 1992. Every year it continues to be the largest single display of student artwork in Florida.
