RSW November traffic report

During November, 919,108 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. This was a decrease of 3.6% compared to November 2023. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 10%.

The traffic leader in November was Delta with 184,157 passengers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (162,900), American (131,217), United (126,753) and JetBlue (97,459).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,664 aircraft operations, an increase of 5 percent compared to November 2023. Page Field saw 13,638 operations, which was a 13 percent decrease compared to November 2023.

Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 10 million passengers in 2023 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. No ad valorem (property) taxes are used for airport operation or construction. For more information, visit flylcpa.com or facebook.com/flyRSW.

Stevens Construction begins work Royal Palm Coast Realtor Association building

Stevens Construction has started construction of Royal Palm Coast Realtor Association site located at 5265 Summerlin Commons Blvd. in Fort Myers, announced Dan Adams, executive vice president/partner, Stevens Construction, Inc.

Kicking off construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on Dec. 13, RPCRA will be a 23,384-square-foot, two-story office designed to elevate member experience, accommodate the rapid growth of the Real Estate industry and provide ample space for professional development and networking opportunities.

Scheduled for completion in 2025, the first floor includes the lobby, two multi-purpose rooms, seven offices, storage, a mother's room, catering kitchen and a covered patio. The second floor will house 24 offices, multiple training and conference rooms, breakroom and the marketing department.

Southwest Florida business group to host 'The Innovation Economy: Connecting Ideas and Opportunity' Feb. 6

Following another year of business growth and opportunities in Lee County, the Horizon Council, Horizon Foundation and Lee County Economic Development Office will host the 2025 Annual Meeting Thursday, Feb. 6.

Titled “The Innovation Economy: Connecting Ideas and Opportunity,” the 2025 Annual Meeting will feature a state of the economy presentation recapping the tremendous growth Lee County has seen, such as the ongoing expansion of Amazon in Fort Myers, new businesses along Pine Island Road in Cape Coral, Herc Rentals' continued growth in the region and much more.

Expanding on the event's theme, the meeting will highlight the role of innovation as a key driver of economic development by fostering new connections between cutting-edge ideas and real-world opportunities. This approach encourages collaboration among local businesses, investors, and innovators, which can lead to sustainable growth and ensure that Lee County remains competitive in a rapidly evolving economy.

Additionally, the meeting will offer a preview of the groups' vision for business and development in 2025 which will emphasize the link between creativity, talent and economic growth.

The 2025 Annual Meeting will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, 1380 Colonial Blvd., in Fort Myers. The event includes networking, a buffet lunch, the annual review and a "passing of the gavel" celebration to formally recognize outgoing and incoming leadership.

Avelo Airlines launches nonstop service between Fort Myers and Wilmington, North Carolina

Avelo Airlines is offering nonstop between Fort Myers' Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Coastal North Carolina's Wilmington International Airport (ILM).

Avelo operates this route twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Travelers can make reservations at AveloAir.com.

Avelo has flown more than 360,000 customers on over 2,700 flights since starting service in Fort Myers.

Avelo now serves four nonstop destinations from RSW. Wilmington, N.C., joins the current nonstop service to Southern Connecticut's Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), The Research Triangle's Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Philadelphia / Delaware Valley region's best airport - Wilmington Airport (ILG).
