A fiesta will take place in the South Cape this weekend, where attendees can find tasty bites and delicious drinks paying homage to Mexican heritage.
The second annual "Cinco de Drinko," put on by the South Cape Hospitality and Entertainment Association hits downtown this Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m.
This Cinco de Mayo themed pub crawl offers festive drink and appetizer samples in the Cape's entertainment district at various participating locations.
"The South Cape Cinco de Drinko Pub Crawl is the perfect way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a fun and festive twist," said SCHEA spokesperson Shannon Quinn. "This event takes it up a notch by letting guests enjoy Mexican flavors in creative, themed cocktails and appetizers across multiple participating locations. It's more than just tacos and tequila -- it's a full experience filled with energy, music and community vibes."
Limo buses will be available to take crawlers to four designated areas, where they can walk to the 11 participating locations.
A ticket includes a wristband for event access and transportation, a passport of locations, a drink and appetizer sample at each establishment, entry into the photo booth contest and access to the official photo booth at Dolphin Key Resort.
Those that get their passport stamped at each location will be entered into the grand prize drawing. The wining photo will receive four tickets to SCHEA's next pub crawl.
The Cinco de Drink event welcomes in a pair of new participants to the usual lineup.
"It's fantastic," Quinn said of more businesses getting involved. "Adding new stops to the crawl keeps things fresh and exciting, not only for returning attendees but also for the businesses themselves. It gives everyone a chance to explore a wider variety of atmospheres and menus and it helps new establishments get exposure to a lively, engaged crowd."
Quinn said it's always fun to see what each establishment concocts to fit the theme.
"That's one of the best parts of our events. The creativity on display is incredible," she said. "Businesses really go all out to craft unique, theme-inspired drinks and apps you won't find on their usual menu. It's fun, flavorful and often a great conversation starter as people compare their favorites."

Quinn added that these pub crawl events are a great way for attendees to experience not just a great night out, but maybe find a new favorite spot.
"These events are a celebration of local flavor, literally and figuratively," she said. "Pub crawls give attendees the chance to step into places they might not have tried before and they often leave with a new favorite spot. For local businesses, it's an opportunity for exposure and connection with new patrons. It's a win-win for everyone."
Regular check-in runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at either Big John's Plaza (near Pinch-a-Penny) and Dolphin Key Resort (under the entry awning).
Late check-in runs until 10 p.m. at Dolphin Key Resort (under the front entry awning).
This is a 21-plus event. Valid ID at check-in will be required, per ticket. You cannot pick up wristbands for other people.
Tickets are $25 in advance, and $30 for day-of, if available. Designated Driver tickets are $20. All tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite.
