The city of Cape Coral's Parks & Recreation Department, in collaboration with Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife, will unveil a new manatee sculpture Monday, Dec. 8, at 9:30 a.m., at Sirenia Vista Park, 3196 Ceitus Parkway.
This piece celebrates the park's beloved seasonal visitors -- the manatees that captivate residents and visitors year after year. The sculpture was made possible through funds raised by CCFW during the 2018 "Manateeum Gala," and it now stands as a reminder of how special wildlife truly is.
Manatees play an important role in the health of local ecosystems, acting as "gardeners of the sea" by keeping aquatic plants in balance.
This newest addition to Sirenia Vista Park honors not only these iconic marine mammals, but also the community's ongoing commitment to preserving Cape Coral's natural beauty.
The public is invited to attend the celebration of art, wildlife and the environment.
