A festive night out with family or friends around some of South Cape's most popular spots can be had next weekend as a precursor to the Christmas holiday.
The inaugural "Sleigh the Holidays Pub Crawl" takes place on Dec. 20 from 7 to 11 p.m.
Presented by the South Cape Hospitality & Entertainment Association, participants can have a jolly good time enjoying drink and appetizer samples at various locations while dressing in their favorite holiday garb.
"SCHEA added this event as a lively, festive extension of our seasonal lineup -- something that captures the holiday spirit while offering the social atmosphere our community loves," said SCHEA spokesperson Shannon Quinn. "Although we kick off the season with the Another Elf’n Pub Crawl, we know not everyone makes it to South Cape twice in one month. By introducing this additional crawl, we hoped to connect with more of our Christmas visitors and give them another chance to celebrate locally while supporting our participating establishments."
Limo buses will transport attendees among four drop-off points, each surrounded by multiple stops to explore.
Ticket price includes a wristband to gain access to event transportation, a passport of locations (get every stamp to be entered to win the grand prize), a drink sample and appetizer sample at each location, entry into the photo booth contest (winning photo receives four tickets to the Best Martini Competition Pub Crawl in January), and access to the official photo booth located at Dolphin Key Resort (under the entry awning).
"The timing makes it perfect for gathering with friends and family who matter most before the busy bustle of the holidays fully kicks in," Quinn added. "It's relaxed, fun, and built around a shared experience. It’s a great way to make memories together."
Quinn said seeing crawlers get dressed up in all kinds of attire is one of the best parts of the event.
"You know that's my favorite part," she said. "Seeing everyone show up in festive outfits, from ugly sweaters to reindeer antlers and onesies. I love rocking my onesie the night of. The holiday garb adds a playful, spirited atmosphere."
And of course, you can't forget what makes SCHEA's pub crawls extra special -- the themed drink and appetizer samples.
"The participating locations are thrilled to bring back creative seasonal drinks and bites," Quinn said. "Many of them see this as a chance to showcase new ideas and share in the holiday excitement."
Participating locations include:
• BackStreets Sports Bar
• Cruisers
• The Dive
• Hooked Island Grill
• Monkey Bar Steak & Seafood
• Nevermind Awesome Bar & Eatery

"We're looking forward to an event that captures everything people love about this season…community, celebration and a little bit of festive cheer -- and competition -- in the costume department," Quinn said. "It's shaping up to be one of the most spirited events of the year."
