Cape Coral Animal Shelter expands TNVR Program to humanely manage community cat population, seeks local sponsors

The Cape Coral Animal Shelter has recently expanded its Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return program, a proven, humane approach to managing community cat populations while improving neighborhood wellbeing. Through regular TNVR events, CCAS is working to reduce the number of unsterilized free-roaming cats, prevent the spread of disease, and create healthier, safer communities for both animals and residents.

TNVR is widely recognized as the most effective and compassionate method for addressing community cat populations. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returned to their original outdoor locations. This process stops the cycle of reproduction, reduces nuisance behaviors such as fighting and spraying, and improves the overall health and longevity of the cats.

"TNVR is not just about cats -- it's about community," said Liz McCauley, executive director of CCAS. "By preventing future litters and ensuring cats are vaccinated and healthy, we reduce shelter intake, lower euthanasia rates, and create a more peaceful coexistence between residents and the animals that share our neighborhoods."

To continue and expand these vital efforts, CCAS is actively seeking TNVR Event Sponsors. Sponsorships directly fund spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and humane care, allowing CCAS to reach more cats and neighborhoods in need.
