A Cape Coral man was involved in a fatal traffic accident Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Sarasota County.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of State Road 681 and En Theos lane, when a van, driven by the 32-year-old Cape man, was attempting to turn left onto State Road 681 after stopping at the intersection.
The van pulled into the intersection and into the path of a motorcycle, driven by a 25-year-old man, who was headed south on State Road 681, approaching a yellow flashing light at the intersection.
The driver of the motorcycle collided with the van and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
FHP reports the accident remains under investigation.
