Lee County Supervisor of Elections recognizes voter challenge winners

Lee County Elections has acknowledged the winners of the 2025-26 High School Voter Registration Challenge. The annual competition aims to encourage eligible high school students in Lee County to register to vote.
Oasis High School earned first place in the challenge, as 28% of its eligible students registered to vote.
Bonita Springs High School ranked second, with 12% of its eligible students registering. Mariner High School followed in third place with 11%.
The office commends both the participants of the challenge and their respective schools. "We are entirely grateful for the teachers, administrators, and principals who allowed us to visit their schools and supported our goals," said Juan Diez, Community Education Services Department director and organizer of the challenge.
The competition ran from Aug. 25, 2025, to Feb. 27, 2026, with 13 high schools participating.
The department registered 1,275 students aged 16 and older during the competition and assisted 685 students with updating their existing voter records.
The office will present the winning schools with their trophies at the Lee County School Board meeting on April 14.
