Cape man changed with lewd or lascivious molestation

A Cape Coral man has been charged two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation, victims 12 or younger, a life felony.

Luis De Los Santos, 44, was arrested May 7 on a felony warrant.

According to Cape Coral Police Department officials, its investigation into De Los Santos began on April 1 when the department received a report regarding possible sexual offenses against a child.

"Special Victims Unit detectives immediately assumed the investigation, conducted multiple interviews, and gathered physical and digital evidence related to the allegations," CCPD officials stated in a release. "Detectives uncovered that there were two victims, both known De Los Santos."

CCPD officials stated that based on the evidence obtained, detectives authored the warrant for De Los Santos, which was reviewed and approved by the State Attorney's Office for the 20th Judicial Circuit.

De Los Santos was taken into custody by the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, Fort Myers Office, and transported to the Lee County Jail.

As of Tuesday afternoon, De Los Santos remained in custody with his bond not yet set.
