Giallombardo re-elected in District 79

Republican Michael Giallombardo has won his third term in the Florida State House after cruising to a landslide victory Tuesday in the District 79 race. Giallombardo who, unlike two years ago, actually had a contest this time around, took home the victory by a more than 2-to-1 margin. Giallombardo got 65,767 votes, 69.07 percent, while his Democratic opponent, Denise McCleary, got 29,454 votes, 30.93 percent. In 2022, Giallombardo won his seat without challenge, Giallombardo could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday night.

In county and state races across Lee County, it was a red sweep as the two-to-one voter registration held by Republicans was evident in nearly all countywide races. Lee County Supervisor of Elections Tommy Doyle reminds voters that tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 5, is Election Day for the 2024 General Election. Cape High’s Lynn wins boys state bowling championship

Thursday BOWLING FHSAA Championships Cape Coral's Daniel Lynn won the FHSAA state individual championship Thursday at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando. Lynn entered the boys' bracket seeded 12th of 16 bowlers, but swept through the bracket to take the title. Included in those wins was a 2-1 victory over No. 1 seed Lincoln Moyer of Edgewood and a 2-1 semifinal win against Mariner's Trey Lemus.
