Intermittent closures of Little Pine Island Bridge scheduled for Saturday

The Florida Department of Transportation has issued notice of intermittent closures of Little Pine Island Bridge in Matlacha this weekend FDOT said the closures will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17, during daytime hours to allow crews to accept deliveries of concrete bridge piles to the worksite and unload onto the barge. The deliveries will start as early as 7 a.m. and will continue until all piles are delivered. Crews will clear traffic in between deliveries to lessen the impact to motorists on and off the island.
