The grand opening for the new Dress for Success Southwest Florida Cape Coral boutique has been rescheduled.
The Shop for Success VIP Celebration will be held from 5-9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, at 907 S.E. 5th Ave. Tickets, which are $50 each, can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
Following the gathering of community partners, supporters and advocates, the boutique will open to the general public on Friday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This boutique is a vital resource for women seeking economic independence, as it will offer professional attire, career development tools, as well as a supportive environment for clients to both thrive personally and professionally.
When Dress for Success Executive Director Jennifer Nelson-Lastra came onboard in January 2024, the organization was struggling financially. The organization moved out of its original location at Bell Tower and co-located to Goodwill Industries, which she said saved the organization.
A new space was offered after Nelson-Lastra was approached by Meghan DeLuca, executive director for Guiding Grace SWFL. Nelson-Lastra said, in a previous interview, that DeLuca offered space for Dress for Success to reopen the boutique.
