Lee County Elections Office closed through Thursday

The Lee County Supervisor of Elections Office will be closed from Monday, Oct. 7 through Thursday, Oct. 10, due to Hurricane Milton. The Logic and Accuracy Testing of voting equipment has been rescheduled for Monday, Oct. 14, at 9 a.m. Testing will take place at the Melvin Morgan Constitutional Complex, Third Floor, located at 2480 Thompson St. in Fort Myers. Congreeman Donalds provides updated Hurricane Milton emergency resources & declarations

Hurricane Milton is projected to make landfall in Southwest Florida as a major hurricane Wednesday evening. The office of Congressman Byron Donalds is closely monitoring Hurricane Milton and is actively coordinating storm preparations alongside federal, state, and local partners. City issues mandatory evacuation for Sanibel

At 9:45 a.m. today, Oct. 7, the city of Sanibel held a news conference to provide information and updates on Hurricane Milton. A mandatory evacuation for the island will go into effect on Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. Afterward, a 24-hour curfew will be instituted and it will remain in place until further notice.

LCEC: We’re prepared

LCEC is closely monitoring Milton and ready to implement its restoration plan if needed, officials said Monday. "LCEC has partnerships with power line and tree-trimming contractors, fuel companies, material vendors, food-service vendors, other cooperatives, and local agencies for mutual aid to ensure that we are ready for restoration.
