The Cape Coral Animal Shelter & Veterinary Clinic will hold a Microchip Clinic Wednesday, June 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the shelter's clinic. For just $10, pet owners can have their dog or cat microchipped and registered for life -- a simple step that offers lasting peace of mind in case a beloved pet ever goes missing.
"No appointment is necessary," said Melanie Waite, director of operations at CCAS. "Just stop by the clinic entrance -- the first door on the right side of our building -- and we'll take care of the rest."
"Hurricane season is upon us, and we highly recommend every animal is microchipped, even if they rarely leave your home. Microchipping is a permanent form of identification that significantly increases the chances of being reunited with a lost pet" said Liz McCauley, executive director. "This low-cost service is part of CCAS's ongoing commitment to keeping pets safe and healthy in our community."

The Cape Coral Animal Shelter Veterinary Clinic is at 325 S.W. 2nd Ave., off of Santa Barbara Boulevard near Lake Kennedy Community Park and Sun Splash Family Waterpark. Pet owners are asked to use the side door of the clinic towards Sun Splash. The clinic is open to the public and pets must be leashed or in carriers.
