‘Emerging therapies in lung cancer treatment’ at Fort Myers Educational Lung Cancer Group meeting May 20

LiveLung, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting lung cancer patients, survivors and their care partners, invites the Fort Myers community to its upcoming monthly educational meeting Tuesday, May 20, at 11:30 a.m. The meeting, which includes a complimentary lunch, will be held at Hyatt Place Fort Myers at the Forum, 2600 Champion Ring Road, Fort Myers.

This month's featured speaker is Peter Moussa, MD, medical oncologist at Lee Health, who will present "Innovations in Action: Emerging Therapies in Lung Cancer Treatment." In this informative session, Moussa will explore the latest breakthroughs in lung cancer care. Attendees will gain insight into how these evolving treatments are reshaping the standard of care and offering new hope for patients at all stages of the disease. "There are so many advances in the treatment of lung cancer and better patient survival in the past few years, especially since new treatment options in biomarker therapies are now available." shares Dr. Moussa.

Moussa is a medical oncologist at Lee Health with a patient-centered philosophy shaped by personal experiences with loved ones affected by cancer. He is committed to treating the whole person -- not just the disease -- through a holistic approach guided by each patient's unique goals and values. Moussa has a special interest in precision oncology and targeted therapies and is a strong advocate for their expanding role in improving outcomes for individuals facing lung cancer and other malignancies.
