The votes are in for the Cape Coral Breeze's December Athlete of the Month, and the winner is Mariner High School's Alessandro Gonzalez.
The Tritons senior striker had his biggest game of the season in a win against Gateway, netting five goals and adding an assist. Gonzalez was tied for the team lead in goals scored with 15 through the first 15 games.
"It (felt) great to score five goals in a game," Gonzalez told The Breeze during his nomination week. "It was for me and good for my teammates. I will continue working hard and following directions and advice from my coach. I will continue to focus on my scoring opportunities and focus on scoring goals to help my team advance as far as possible."
