North Fort Myers 55, Lemon Bay 46: In a wild shootout, Christian Weber scored five North Fort Myers touchdowns. The Red Knights (2-3) led 27-16 at the half, but Lemon Bay soon tied the score at 34. The Manta Rays stayed within 41-40 and 48-46 before Weber’s fifth TD sealed North’s win. Weber ran for 203 yards and those five TDs on 17 carries. Charles Lombardo had 163 yards and two touchdowns receiving for North as Caeden Conn passed for nearly 200 yards overall. On defense, Daveon Johnson ripped the ball away from Lemon Bay quarterback Drew Moorman and took the ball 65 yards for a TD. Carlos Serrano had five touchdowns for Lemon Bay.
Cape Coral 34, Estero 21: After a red-hot start, the Seahawks (5-0) had to battle in the second half to earn the win. Cape Coral went up 27-0 in the first quarter, but the Wildcats pulled within 27-21 and were in the red zone two more times in the second half. The Seahawks would add a TD in the fourth quarter to put the game away. Jermaine Skinner ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, including a 70-yard TD run on Cape’s first offensive play and a 12-yarder for the clinching score. Derek Hooker hit touchdown passes of 51 yards to TJ Schley and 27 yards to Nate Ogrodzinski. One of two Jayden Reyes interceptions turned into a 58-yard pick-six.
Ida Baker 55, DeSoto County 22: Ida Baker rang up some big numbers on offense, led by quarterback Brody Root’s 300-yard, three-TD passing and 100-yard rushing performance. Nikolas Korf also came up big, running for more than 200 yards and three touchdowns. Then there was Caelum Craigin’s 200 yards and a touchdown receiving. Roderick Thompkins and Nik Velez also caught Root TD passes, while Dominic Pena and Sebastian Hubbard ran for scores. The win pulled the Bulldogs’ record up to 2-2.
Bishop Verot 39, Homestead 6: Mac Thompson had touchdown runs of 8 and 17 yards, plus catching an Austan Cristiaan 8-yard TD pass and adding a 2-point conversion. Thompson had 151 yards rushing on 11 carries. Ayden Gonzalez was on the receiving end of a Christiaan TD pass as part of a 107-yard night. Gavin Wittmer got the Vikings in a hurry with a 93-yard kickoff return to begin the scoring. Colton Lamb added a 35-yard field goal for Bishop Verot (3-2).
SW Florida Christian 28, Oasis 0: The Sharks (1-4) trailed only 7-0 at halftime before SW Florida Christian pulled away.
