High school football playoffs set
Verot, Cape, North and Oasis earn berths

The FHSAA released its state playoffs and Florida Invitational Tournament brackets on Thursday.
Cape Coral (9-1) earned the second seed in the Region 5A-3 playoffs. The Seahawks will be at home against Gulf Coast.
North Fort Myers (4-6) made the field as the eighth seed. Riverdale, seeded No. 1, will play host to the Red Knights.
The FIT is new this year, a tournament for non-playoff teams.
Oasis (3-6) will be a fourth seed in the FIT, and will be home against No. 5 Inlet Grove next Thursday.
Bishop Verot drew the fifth seed in Region 2A-3 and faces Calvary Christian next Friday in Fort Lauderdale.
