Local wrestlers headed to boys FHSAA State Championships this week

A number of local wrestlers have earned the right to compete in the FHSAA State Championships this week in Kissimmee. Bishop Verot High’s Bennett Sweitzer, who earned the 1A-3 regional title in the 175-pound division, will be joined by teammates Hudson Sweitzer (third at 120), Tiago Passos (fourth at 132) and Quinn Enguita (third at 215) at the state finals. Lucas Lopes of Island Coast also qualified with a third place finish at 144 pounds at the 1A-3 meet.
