Moore, Nguyen graduate from New York Tech
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — More than 1,100 students received degrees from New York Institute of Technology as spring graduates of the Class of 2021. Local degree recipients include Megan Moore from Cape Coral, who completed the BPS Hospitality Management program, and Nguyen Nguyen from Cape Coral, who completed the MS Physician Assistant Studies program.
New York Institute of Technology offers 90 undergraduate, graduate and professional degree programs in more than 50 fields of study, including computer science, data, and cybersecurity; biology and biomedical studies; architecture and design; engineering; health professions and medicine; IT and digital technologies; management; communications and marketing; education and counseling; and energy and sustainability. FSW Foundation awarded $500,000 grant for Career and Technical Education program
The Florida SouthWestern State College Foundation was recently awarded a two-year, $500,000 grant from The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. The grant will support FSW's Career and Technical Education Vision for Innovation Success and Access program.
The CTE VISA program is a workforce development-focused initiative that concentrates on identifying and expanding career path opportunities and enhances existing partnerships with regional employers with a focus in the technology, education and emergency medical services fields.
The FSW Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization and a direct support organization for Florida SouthWestern State College.

Guardian ad Litem Foundation hosts 'Back to School with the Blue' backpack giveaway
The Guardian ad Litem Foundation, 20th Judicial Circuit, distributed backpacks stuffed with school supplies to more than 200 Southwest Florida students as the new school year begins.
The foundation's second annual "Back to School with the Blue" backpack giveaway, in partnership with the Lee County Sheriff's Office, was held July 31 at the Lee County Sheriff's Office Community Outreach Center at Edison Mall in Fort Myers. Children living in foster care or temporary homes were given new backpacks filled with folders, notebooks, writing utensils, art supplies and $100 Old Navy gift cards to purchase school uniforms or clothing.
About 170 children received their backpacks during the event, and volunteers delivered 40 additional backpacks to local students unable to attend "Back to School with the Blue."
