Maranzatto named to James Madison University dean’s list
HARRISONBURG, Va. — Cape Coral resident Hanna Maranzatto has been named to the dean’s list at James Madison University for the fall 2021 semester. Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899.
Maranzatto is a music major.

STEMLab opens at Miromar Outlets
Inspired by the IMAG History & Science Center of Fort Myers, STEMLab is a new, vibrant and imaginative space, located at Miromar Outlets, designed for the whole family to enrich their experiences and understanding of science, technology, engineering, and, yes, mathematics.
Bringing inspiration to life, STEMLab is fun for kids of all ages with hands-on activities and interactive exhibits, including SOS Explorer (Science on a Sphere), Google Earth Wall, Animated Augmented-Reality Sandbox, DrawAlive Studio, Hurricane Simulator and more.
In addition to its activities and exhibits, the STEMLab presents special day and evening programs and events created expressly for families, children and adults in its spacious classroom. For the imagination in everyone, STEMLab also features a store with STEM-To-Go activities, toys, and gifts.

FGCU Board of Trustees asks for nominees to serve on Presidential Search Committee
Florida Gulf Coast University's Board of Trustees is preparing to launch a national search to hire a successor for President Mike Martin, who is set to retire from his post at the end of the year. The university is now asking for nominations for members of the Presidential Search Committee.
The makeup of the committee is outlined by the Florida Board of Governors, which limits the group to no more than 15 people. While certain roles are required, the committee may include a broad representation of students, alumni, employees and members of the Southwest Florida community.
Please submit nominations for the Presidential Search Committee by Thursday, Feb. 10, to Tiffany Reynolds at treynold@fgcu.edu. Emails should include the full name, title and contact information for any nominee.
Once established, the committee will develop a search timeline, create a position profile, assist with marketing the position, vet applicants, interview the most qualified candidates and provide the Board of Trustees with an unranked list of finalists to review.
Following a board vote, the president-elect must be confirmed by the Florida Board of Governors.
