Free autism screening for young children Aug. 27
Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida, offers a free monthly autism spectrum disorder screening for toddlers 18 months to five years of age. The next screening will be held on Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Pediatric Specialist Office, 15901 Bass Road, Suite 102, Fort Myers.
It is estimated that one in every 59 children is diagnosed with some form of autism spectrum disorder, making it more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined.
The ASD screening is conducted by the Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. The screenings are administered by an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, who has extensive training and experience in typical child development and developmental disorders.

Hollander earns award for Excellence in Home Care
With more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including a decade in home health leadership, Jonathan Hollander has been selected to receive the Home Care Association of Florida's 2021 Excellence in Home Care Award in the category of Outstanding Leader.
Hollander began his career at Lee Health as a registered nurse at Lee Memorial Hospital and earned several promotions before being named clinical director of home health services, a role he's held for the past two years.
The honor Hollander received recognizes home care professionals for their dedication to the provision of quality home care and for their exemplary service to those they serve.
The recipient of the Terri Santangelo Outstanding Leader Award, which is named in honor of the HCAF's former president, must "exemplify all the qualities that Terri consistently displayed as a true leader in the home care industry" and must also possess personal and professional leadership qualities, exemplary team spirit, excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, innovative spirit and dedication to patient and staff satisfaction.

Nachef named vice president of government relations at Lee Health
With extensive expertise in government and civic relations, legislation and public policy, Lee Health's Michael Nachef has been named vice president of government relations. Before being appointed to his new position, Nachef served as Lee Health's system director of government relations.
As an in-house registered lobbyist, Nachef works closely with elected officials and their staff at the local, state and federal levels. This work is focused on policy and funding issues that affect healthcare delivery and cost for residents of Southwest Florida. He also collaborates with hospital, community and statewide leaders to achieve positive outcomes for Lee Health and the region.
Nachef has been with Lee Health since 2016 when he joined the organization as director of government relations. Prior to his role at Lee Health, he spent more than six years working for the State of Florida. He served as a legislative assistant with the Florida Senate, where he helped to craft legislation and move it through the legislative process.
Nachef earned a bachelor of arts in political science from Florida Gulf Coast University. He is a graduate of College Leadership Florida and an active member of the Leadership Florida organization.

Wilson vice president of oncology at Lee Health
With more than two decades of extensive and dedicated oncology experience, Debra Wilson, RN, MSN, OCN, has been tapped to serve as Lee Health's vice president of oncology.
In her new role, Wilson will be responsible for establishing the vision and strategic direction for cancer services at Lee Health. She will collaborate with key medical leadership in evaluating new technology, innovations in the delivery of patient care, and opportunities to change the delivery of care to be more progressive and effective.
Wilson comes to Lee Health from Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, South Carolina, where she served as system associate vice president of oncology services and chief administrative officer for Roper St. Francis Mt. Pleasant Hospital.
Wilson attended the University of Southern Indiana where she earned her bachelor's degree in Nursing and her master's degree in Nursing Management and Leadership.
She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Oncology Nursing Society.
