To the editor: I recently stopped for dinner at Mel’s Diner on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral. I had my son and a friend of his with me. After completing our meal I asked the server for our check. She smile sand said “Your bill has been taken care of.” She went on to tell me that she “swore secrecy” to the anonymous patron who paid our dinner bill. They’d even taken care of our tip.
